Sana Barque Tavan (SBT) is a knowledge-based company headquartered in Pardis Technology Park, that manufactures electric motor drives. The company was founded in 2012, by a number of graduates from Sharif University of Technology, University of Tehran, and Amirkabir University of Technology. A drive is a high-tech electronic device that harnesses and controls the electrical energy sent to the motor. The drive feeds electricity into the motor in varying amounts and at varying frequencies, thereby indirectly controlling the motor's speed and torque. The main application of electric motor drive in Iran is in the elevator industry, however, it is applicable wherever an electric motor exists like hybrid vehicles, in order to control the motor's speed and torque. So, the major customers of the company are corporations which are active in the elevator industry. Nevertheless, SBT is planning to expand its business in different markets in Iran as well as foreign countries.
